The Bonnet-t-e's & Kin, Vol. 18, pp. 1-7, 1994. This family moved to the Cedar Creek area of Frederick County, Virginia, later Hampshire County, West Virginia, where there exists a land patent to Samuel dated 1766 (purchase of 205 acres of land). This land on the South Branch (of the Potomac River) was sold in 1777 (another source says the land was leased to David Myles). The family, with the exception of son Henry, then moved over the mountains to Harrison County, (West) Virginia, by 1785 when he obtained a land grant there (44 acres in Monogalia County, later Harrison County).
