06 Nov 1837, Lowndes Co. AL Orphan's Court, Bk. B (1833-1838), page 509, State Archives .. El ijah GROOM petitioned Court on behalf wife's (Elizabeth BRYAN POU) dower. Granted right to se rve as administer of estate of the late Wm Pou for Elizabeth (Bryan) and their daughter, Mati lda POU, till the estate was settled in 1845.
Correction: I sent you that Wm died between Apr - Nov 1836 - that should be 1837. Sorry. He p urchased land in Lowndes Co, AL on 10 Apr 1837. That is the last record I have of him being a live.
