State of Louisiana }
Parish of Union } before me G M Smith
Recorder exificio Notary Public duly commissioned
and sworn in and for the said Parish and
State p--sonly come and appeared Elijah
Groom a resident of said Parish and state
who declares and acknowledges therefore and
in consideration of the price and sum of three
hundred and twenty five Dollars to him
in hand paid the receipt wher of is hereby
acknowledged he had this day Bargained
Sold transferred and declared and does by
this presants Grant Bargain sold transfers
and ---- unto Needham M Bryan of
the same reme--mercia – the right title
me-- ---- in and to the following Negro
man to wit a man a bout forty years of age
of dark complexion. He the said Elijah
Groom do--- the presants Grant bargan
sell convey and deliver unto the said Bryan
all the rights Title and Intrust in and to
the above described Negro – he does forever
warrant and defend the the title unto the
said --- Bryan for him his heirs and asigns
to his and their proper use -ine for and
behalf to have and hold the same forever.
In testimony wherof the parties have her---
to agreed that together with H. B Lasite
and N M Bryan witness of Lawful age
and me the said notary of this 1st day
of January --- 1847
