Know all men by
these presant that
I Wright Groom for and in consideration
of the sum of seven dollars to me in hand paid
I do hereby give grant and relinquish unto Elijah Groom his
heirs and assigns lot number thirty one of the north side of
Monroe Street, to have and to hold in fee simple provided
the said lot should not be redeemed by the sixth day of
July 1842 with all and singular the (appurtenances there out)?
belonging which the said deed of John B Garrett as city marshall
of montgomery confers in me
In witness whereof I hereunto set my
hand and seal this the second day of July Eighteen hundred
and forty two and the Independence of the United States the
66th year – signed sealed and delivered in the presents
of Malleau Blue J P }

The State of Alabama } Personally appeared before me Joseph
Montgomery County } Copper clerk of the county court of said
County John B Garrett who acknowledged that he signed sealed
and delivered the within deed to Wright Groom on the day and
year therein written ~~~~ also appeared at the same time
Wright Groom who acknowledged that he signed sealed and
delivered the above deed to Elijah Groom on the day and year above
written In testimony whereof thereunto set my hand
