Information proving that Mary's maiden name is Venator came from Dennis Miller. Her first son, Amos Jay Bonnett is found in the California Death Records. His mothers' maiden name is listed as Vanator.
From Jackson Co school records it appears the Mary A remarried between Nov. 1889 and Sept. 1890 to Daniel P Brittain.

DEATH OF MRS. BRITTAIN.--
Mrs. Mary Brittain, wife of D.P. Brittain, died of cancer at the residence of A. J. Wilcox, in Talent, last Thursday night at 12 o'clock, aged 63 years. Deceased came to this county from California a few years ago and was married to D. P. Brittain. She had been a sufferer for some time from rose cancer. Funeral services were held at Talent, Saturday, and the burial was made a Hagardine cemetery.page 43
